Seeking a Detail-Oriented Librarian

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of a Librarian. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our collection of books, magazines, and other resources, as well as providing assistance to patrons in locating information.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Catalog and classify all library materials using standard systems
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all library resources
  • Assist patrons in locating and retrieving materials
  • Organize and maintain the library's physical space to ensure easy access to resources
  • Develop and implement programs and events to promote literacy, reading, and community engagement
  • Keep up-to-date with new books, publications, technologies, and other resources related to the Indian community
  • Collaborate with other librarians and organizations to expand the library's collection and services
  • Train and supervise volunteers or assistants in daily tasks

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
  • Proven experience working as a Librarian or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification
  • Familiarity with information retrieval systems and database management
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to assist patrons from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others
  • Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
