About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience in managing a team and ensuring high-quality production.

\

The Workshop Manager will be responsible for overseeing the production process, managing the workshop team, maintaining equipment, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.

\

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the carpentry and joinery workshop, ensuring smooth workflow and production efficiency.\
  • Supervise and lead a team of skilled carpenters, joiners, and apprentices, providing guidance and support as needed.\
  • Coordinate with project managers and designers to understand project requirements and timelines.\
  • Oversee the production of custom furniture, cabinetry, and other woodwork items, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.\
  • Maintain inventory of materials and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and stock management.\
  • Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.\
  • Monitor and maintain workshop equipment, ensuring regular maintenance and prompt repairs.\
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.\
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring that all work is completed on schedule.\
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure all products meet design specifications and standards.\
  • Provide technical advice and solutions to resolve any production issues or challenges.\

Requirements:

  • \
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a carpentry or joinery workshop, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.\
  • Experience working in the commercial sector, particularly within retail, F&B, and office fitouts, with a strong portfolio.\
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques, materials, and tools.\
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.\
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.\
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.\
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in a workshop environment.\
  • Proficiency in using workshop machinery and equipment.\
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.\
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.\
  • Fluency in English and Hindi.\
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) is mandatory.\
  • Bachelor's degree, diploma, or adequate certification in Carpentry, Joinery, Woodworking, or a related field.\
  • Knowledge of advanced woodworking techniques and innovative design solutions.\
