Key Responsibilities:

  • Our Academic Coach will provide personalized coaching sessions to students, focusing on skills such as study strategies, time management, organization, and goal setting.

  • The coach will monitor student progress, collaborate with faculty and support staff, and address challenges as needed.

  • By identifying at-risk students, our coach will develop tailored coaching plans and interventions to support their academic success.

  • Maintaining accurate records of student interactions, progress, and outcomes is crucial for our Academic Coach's role.

  • The coach will assist students in navigating academic resources, including tutoring, advising, and counseling services, to ensure they receive the support they need.

  • Developing and delivering workshops or seminars on academic success topics is an essential aspect of this role.

  • Our Academic Coach will encourage student accountability and self-advocacy, empowering them to take ownership of their academic journey.

  • To stay current, our coach will remain informed on best practices in academic coaching and student development.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is required (a Master's degree is preferred).

  • Experience working with students in an educational setting, preferably in academic advising, coaching, or counseling, is essential.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for success in this role.

  • Our ideal candidate can work independently and collaboratively, leveraging their skills to support student success.

  • Familiarity with digital tools for scheduling, data tracking, and communication is highly valued.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of learning theories, motivational strategies, and educational technologies is beneficial.

  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including first-generation college students or students with learning challenges, is an asset.
