Electrical Reliability Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Reliability Engineer to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to the development and implementation of electrical reliability strategies, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.

1. Develop and implement electrical reliability strategies, perform advanced condition monitoring, and lead initiatives to enhance electrical system performance and extend the remaining useful life of electrical assets.
2. Design and execute condition monitoring programs and implement predictive maintenance strategies with advanced analytics.
3. Support electrical asset reliability management by providing technical expertise to operations and maintenance teams for critical electrical assets of high voltage and low voltage systems including transformers, switchgear, motors, UPS, Variable frequency drives (VFDs), Soft starters, and Explosion-proof electrical equipment in the field.
4. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) to track electrical system reliability and improvements.
5. Assist in daily troubleshooting and resolution of field electrical issues.
6. Provide guidance on the selection, installation, and commissioning of new electrical equipment.
7. Conduct Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies and develop strategies for long-term asset reliability.
8. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to investigate and mitigate electrical failures.
9. Apply advanced reliability engineering principles, including reliability modelling, prediction, life testing, HALT, HASS, ALT, and warranty analysis.
10. Perform remaining life assessments of electrical assets to support asset lifecycle management.
11. Develop and implement condition monitoring techniques, including Thermal imaging, Partial discharge testing, Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA), Transformer oil analysis, Ultrasonic testing, UPS & power quality analysis, Insulation resistance testing, Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR) testing, and Circuit breaker testing.
12. Prepare detailed reports on reliability performance, including analysis of failures, maintenance activities, and improvement initiatives.
13. Maintain records of equipment history, maintenance activities, and reliability metrics.
14. Assess the performance and quality of service provided by the electrical distribution network using reliability indices such as SAIFI, SAIDI, and CAIDI.
15. Develop, review, and update electrical Maintenance Craft Procedures (MCPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with industry best practices.
16. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
2. No less than 12 years of relevant experience in a similar role, specifically in substations, power generation, or distribution.
3. Proficiency in condition monitoring techniques such as thermography, partial discharge analysis, and insulation resistance testing.
4. Experience working with online and offline monitoring systems.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
6. Broad understanding of relevant processes on upstream plants and applicable codes and standards.
7. Experience in plant troubleshooting, maintenance optimization, and problem-solving.
8. Understanding of Process (P&IDs/PFDs) and Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
9. Relevant electrical certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Competent Electrical Person (CEP).
10. Experience with predictive maintenance tools and software.
11. Project Management Tools.
12. Reliability management, standards, and calculations.
13. SAP (PM & MM Modules).
14. Asset Performance Management Software.
