Role Purpose
To support Commercial units' profitability and regulatory compliance of Omantel by maintaining services cost and profitability assessment model, producing regulatory/management reports from Omantel costing model, and providing strategic financial inputs for regulatory consultations and decision support for pricing proposals from the commercial Units .

  • Minimum role requirements:
  • Qualification: Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Experience: A Minimum of 7 years of experience in telecoms pricing setting/ analysis and costing.

Key Accountabilities

  • Financial Analysis & Pricing Support: Provide financial analysis for pricing decisions on new/existing products, including price setting, competition, demand analysis, service bundling, price revisions, risks and mitigations, and promotions.
  • Regulatory Financial Support: Collaborate with the regulatory team, on pricing proposals, economic justifications, and margin squeeze tests, ensuring compliance and follow-up clarifications addressed by the TRA.
  • TRA Consultation & Benchmarking: Support pricing consultations related to Retail Tariff Regulation, competition frameworks, and wholesale reference offers.
  • Costing & Quality Checks: Review and validate finance inputs from the costing team on product pricing, bundles, and promotions, ensuring alignment with market prices.
  • Management Decision Support: Provide expert insights on tariff, OPEX elements as extract from the costing model, which are used in the financial models of different proposals to meet management expectations.
  • Revenue Project Management: Manage and update the assigned revenue projects within the costing model, ensuring accuracy through reconciliation of billing and financial values and maintain proper data templates.
  • SRA Reporting: Prepare and present SRA (Separated Regulatory Accounts) outcomes, explaining year-over-year variances with justifications.
  • Cost Model Analysis: Analyze and optimize cost model outputs, recommending value-maximizing adjustments.
  • Efficiency: In-depth analytical review of Activity costs with optimization recommendations to the management to maximize value contribution of processes and activities
  • Audit and Compliance: Supervise the preparation of audit scope of work, agreements, accounting documents, ensuring compliance with Accounting Separation Regulation (ASR), guidelines and directives.
  • Data Management & Big Data: Deep understanding of the database principles to ensure creating off system financial models and accurate and efficient data retrieval for analysis, using tools like SQL and Python to generate performance reports on mobile and fixed services.
  • Profitability Analysis: Maintain and update profitability models, providing management reports and insights on services profitability and margin analysis.
