Role Description

  • The Scaffolding Manager is responsible for overseeing all scaffolding operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective planning, erection, inspection, and dismantling of scaffolding structures across projects. Success in this role is demonstrated by delivering scaffolding solutions on time, within budget, and in full compliance with safety and quality standards. This position plays a critical role in supporting construction, maintenance, and shutdown projects, ensuring that site teams have reliable access solutions to complete their work effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Coordination – Develop scaffolding plans and schedules in line with project requirements, coordinating with site engineers, project managers, and safety teams.
  • Safety & Compliance – Ensure all scaffolding works comply with international standards (e.g., OSHA, BS EN) and company HSE policies; conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
  • Resource Management – Manage scaffolding crews, equipment, and materials to optimize productivity and minimize costs.
  • Team Leadership – Supervise, train, and mentor scaffold supervisors and erectors, fostering a strong safety culture and high performance.
  • Technical Support – Review and approve scaffolding designs and method statements, providing technical solutions for complex access requirements.
  • Quality Assurance – Monitor scaffolding structures for stability, safety, and compliance with specifications; ensure prompt corrective actions when required.
  • Reporting & Documentation – Maintain accurate records of scaffolding activities, materials usage, manpower allocation, and inspections.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication – Serve as the main point of contact for scaffolding-related queries, building strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience (typically 7–10 years) in scaffolding management within construction, oil & gas, or industrial projects.
  • Certification in scaffolding management/supervision (e.g., CISRS, OSHA, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of scaffolding standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and team management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, scaffold designs, and method statements.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost control.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools is an advantage.
