Position Overview: The Workshop Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of our carpentry and joinery workshop, ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role involves overseeing the production process, managing the workshop team, maintaining equipment, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily operations of the carpentry and joinery workshop, ensuring smooth workflow and production efficiency.
• Supervise and lead a team of skilled carpenters, joiners, and apprentices, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Coordinate with project managers and designers to understand project requirements and timelines.
• Oversee the production of custom furniture, cabinetry, and other woodwork items, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.
• Maintain inventory of materials and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and stock management.
• Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Monitor and maintain workshop equipment, ensuring regular maintenance and prompt repairs.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
• Manage project timelines, ensuring that all work is completed on schedule and within budget.
• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure all products meet design specifications and standards.
• Provide technical advice and solutions to resolve any production issues or challenges.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a carpentry or joinery workshop, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience working in the commercial sector particularly within the retail, F&B and office fitouts with a strong portfolio
• Strong knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques, materials, and tools.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in a workshop environment.
• Proficiency in using workshop machinery and equipment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
• Fluency in English and Hindi
• Fluency in Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, word, PowerPoint, outlook etc) in a mandatory.

Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, diploma or adequate Certification in Carpentry, Joinery, Woodworking, or a related field.
• Knowledge of advanced woodworking techniques and innovative design solutions.
