Job Function

The Institutional Data Specialist reports to the Planning and Development Director and supports the management of institutional data across A'Sharqiyah University. The role contributes to collecting, validating, analyzing, and reporting institutional data to support strategic planning, performance monitoring, and informed decision-making. The position plays an important role in maintaining data quality, accuracy, and compliance in alignment with university policies and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining systems for collecting and managing institutional data aligned with university policies, Strategic Plan KPIs, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare periodic reports, data summaries, and dashboards to support planning, performance monitoring, and management review processes.
  • Support the coordination and submission of accurate data to internal units and external stakeholders, including providing data to the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department (QAA) when requested.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining monitoring tools to track operational and strategic indicators.
  • Conduct data checks and validation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to data governance and confidentiality standards.
  • Facilitate communication and data sharing among departments to ensure consistency and standardized reporting formats.
  • Participate in training sessions and provide support to staff on data entry, reporting tools, and data quality requirements.

Contribute to the integration and use of institutional data for university-wide analysis, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience

Experience working directly in the field of data analysis, higher education planning, and developing and working with dashboards is required. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with structured reporting, data verification, and coordination across multiple departments.

Skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with databases and data management systems.
  • Understanding of higher education reporting requirements and performance indicators.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English; Arabic proficiency preferred.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.

Ability to work collaboratively across departments and meet deadlines.

Qualification

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Statistics (preferred) or a related discipline such as Data Science, Information Management, or Business Administration.
