Wood is recruiting for a Senior Piping Engineer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work.

Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.

Responsibilities
In this role you will Supervise a team of piping engineers and designers to translate the limited information from the Concept Selection Report and/or Basis for Design to Basis for Design and/or Front End Design & project specifications as well as detailed design. Supervise a team of piping engineers to carry out the Piping Engineering FEED and DD activities (Define and Execute stage) for an assigned area of a specific project in order to generate the relevant Piping Engineering FEED and DD deliverables on time according to DCAF requirements

Responsibilities

• Prepare Piping Engineering Cost, Time and Resource (CTR) Catalogue for projects
• Supervise a team of piping engineers and Designer assigned to a project area (supervised by Project piping Lead)
• Contribute to Basis for Design, Basis of Design, and Project Specifications/Philosophies
• Develop Equipment Layout/Plot Plan based on PFS/UFS, Technical safety requirements
• Develop Piping Layout based on PEFS/UEFS
• Carry out Stress Analysis for critical lines for both piping and pipeline (metalic and non metalic)
• Select / Develop piping classes based on MSR
• Develop / Approve specification for piping materials and speciality items
• Follow Quality Management System (QMS) requirements in line with ISO and API Q2 2nd edition requirements.
• Initiate, check, and/or approve Piping Engineering Deliverables
• Provide input / Review other discipline deliverable as appropriate.
• Conduct Layout Review / Model Reviews and ensure timely close-out of all actions.
• Support procurement and construction activities.
• Participate in HAZID, Design Review, HAZOP, IPF and various HSE related workshop

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years in FEED and DD /ENGINEERING and Minimum 10 years in oil & gas Experience.
• Specialist in stress analysis for piping and pipeline (both metallic & non Metallic).
• Good communicator and good inter-personal/leadership skills.
• Experience in managing small teams and third part contractor/licensor.
• Fluent in English; Written and Spoken.
