Job Summary

The Backend Lead will be responsible for the architecture, reliability, and delivery of Mubashir's backend systems. You will guide technical execution while collaborating with product, frontend, DevOps, and AI teams to ensure performance, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Backend Architecture & Development
  • Mentor and support backend engineers in writing clean, reliable, and testable code.
  • Set technical standards, perform code reviews, and ensure accountability across development tasks.
  • Support sprint planning, estimation, and release execution.

  • Mentor and support backend engineers in writing clean, reliable, and testable code.

  1. Cross-Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with frontend, DevOps, AI, and product managers to align backend systems with business and product needs.
  • Ensure APIs and backend infrastructure are modular, stable, and well-documented.
  1. Security & Quality Assurance
  • Implement secure APIs using OAuth2, JWT, and TLS.
  • Define observability standards (logging, metrics, alerting) and collaborate with DevOps to ensure uptime.
  • Coordinate with InfoSec on security best practices and reviews.

Key Competencies and Skills

  1. Languages & Frameworks: Node.js, Python, or Golang.
  2. API Design: RESTful, gRPC, OpenAPI/Swagger, authentication flows.
  3. Architecture: Microservices, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), distributed systems.
  4. Data & Caching: PostgreSQL, Redis, MySQL, database tuning.
  5. Cloud & DevOps Collaboration: Kubernetes-based deployments in cloud-agnostic environments (Azure/GCP/AWS).
  6. Leadership: Technical mentoring, backlog prioritization, code quality ownership.

Certifications to Be Acquired

  1. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  2. Advanced Backend Architecture Certification
  3. Optional: Multi-cloud certifications (Azure/GCP/AWS)

  1. 99.9% uptime of backend services
  2. Timely delivery of backend roadmap milestones
  3. Code quality metrics (coverage, critical bugs, review velocity)

Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  2. Experience: 8–10+ years in backend development, with 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
  3. Certifications: Relevant backend and architecture certifications as listed above.
