Role Purpose

Provide complete plans for new Primary and Secondary fixed network (Copper/FOC/GPON), issue work orders to contractors, supervise the implementation stage, conduct site surveys for OSP Network Protection, ensure the preservation of existing networks, patrol to protect Copper/FOC cables from damage, and raise reports for damaged cables to the relevant authorities such as the Municipality and ROP.

Minimum Role Requirements
  • Qualification: Bachelor degree in Engineering
  • Experience: 3-6 years
Key Accountabilities
  • Design network for Copper and Fiber for Backbone, 5G Sites, LTE, Access Protection, P2P, Microwave to FOC, FTTH, OLT.
  • Update all designs in GCOMM for all projects.
  • Develop initial plans and analyze data.
  • Prepare strategic plans and obtain approvals.
  • Conduct quarterly analysis and prepare requirements for the upcoming year and future plans.
  • Manage end-to-end projects ensuring completion on time, within schedule, and budget.
  • Maintain contractual commitments and obligations.
  • Review excavation permits issued by the OSP team and provide comments.
  • Conduct surveys and supervise work by internal and external contractors.
  • Support Project Managers to monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of new projects.
  • Build relations with authorities to expedite approval processes.
  • Prepare periodic reports on project progress and highlight issues promptly.
  • Provide regular updates to management on project status, issues, capacity, and achievements.
  • Ensure all WOs and Projects comply with Omantel standards.
  • Supervise and monitor WOs progress.
  • Prepare ongoing progress reports during the project lifecycle.
  • Create reports tailored for specific teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth progress.
  • Monitor project schedules and coordinate with contractors/vendors.
  • Report to management on project progress and justify any changes to plans.
