General Responsibility

  • Understand the Employee Handbook and comply with the standards it outlines.
  • Carry out all professionally reasonable instruction given by your supervisor.
  • Report all incidents, accidents and guest complaints in briefings.
  • Successfully complete Training Certification Process and review all department safety information (i.e. JHA's and MSDS's), practice emergency procedures in compliance with hotel company standards. React and assist in hotel emergency situation if necessary.
  • Understand and practice hotel emergency fire procedures.
  • Offer lateral service to internal/external customer when available.
  • Maintain safe conditions in work area and other associated areas.
  • Learn, understand and energize Alila Villas Uluwatu standards and green globe program.
  • Participate in departmental and hotel problem solving teams during weekly and monthly core meetings.

Technical Expertise
  • Familiarize with the design and layout of the resort. Obtain understanding of operating procedures related to such.
  • Installs, repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, engines, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, and laundry processing units.
  • Perform tasks of rebuilding valves, mechanical wielding, brazing, and fabrication, replacing worn parts and accomplishing other major repairs to the laundry equipment.
  • Examine operational control and pneumatic systems to diagnose problems using proper inspection, testing, and monitoring techniques and safe and proper use of tools, especially for these systems.
  • Perform safe operation methods and procedures in troubleshooting of all the equipment systems including steam and chilled water heat transfer system.
  • Inspect, test and perform corrective and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication and power circuits.
  • Isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamps, etc.
  • Replace faulty switches, sockets and other elements of electrical systems to include fabrication of electrical control panels.
  • Dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, armatures, switches, sockets and other elements of electric systems.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with other technical and maintenance personnel.
  • Perform related duties as required or assigned.
  • Provide solutions, answers questions, and make recommendations when needed.
  • Perform routine administrative duties to support the job requirements (including basic computer skills).
  • Lead or lend support to special project assignments.
  • Report any unusual findings or safety hazards immediately to the Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.
  • Estimate time and material cost on equipment projects.
  • Requisition new equipment parts and supplies for maintenance or repair.
  • Apply mastery of skills and serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly paint shop containing all necessary tools, parts and materials.
  • Repair and maintain all civil works associated with and relevant to the Hotel Building structures.
  • Repair all furniture and timber fixing or fitting which require carpentry works to be carried out.
  • Repair masonry, marbles, floor covering or other such finishing.
  • Repair and replace upholstery and carpet.
  • Responsible for the provision of accurate logs and records information on the works being repaired/maintained.
  • Attend and participate in all related training programs.
  • Advise Duty Engineers and Supervisors on any material or operational supplies required for the work assigned to him, including anticipating when making the order.
  • Assist in the property safety and energy conservation program.

Environment Sustainability Responsibilities
  • Comply with health, safety, security policies of the hotel.
  • Have knowledge and ability to support environment-friendly operational approach.
  • Have knowledge and ability to implement Earth Check principles in his/her scope.

Minimum 2-7 Years Of Experience

Proven experience as a kitchen technician, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting.

Education - High School diploma or equivalent completion of a technical or trade school program in kitchen is desirable.

Skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy equipment.

Preferred Skills
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in kitchen equipment maintenance or refrigeration.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to kitchen equipment maintenance.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service skills to address guest concerns and ensure a positive guest experience.
