Responsibilities
  1. Operate and maintain vacuum sewer systems to ensure efficient wastewater transport, minimizing downtime and service interruptions.
  2. Conduct regular inspections of vacuum stations and collection tanks, identifying signs of wear and potential failures before they escalate.
  3. Perform routine maintenance on pumps, valves, and other machinery, following established safety protocols to prevent accidents.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in real-time, utilizing diagnostic tools to maintain system integrity.
  5. Document all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in detail, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards.
  6. Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to develop and implement improvements to the vacuum sewer system.
  7. Respond to emergency calls promptly, assessing situations and executing appropriate remedial actions to restore service.
  8. Train new operators on properly using equipment and safety practices, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
  9. Monitor environmental conditions and adherence to regulations, prepared to report any incidents or non-compliance issues.
  10. Maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies, coordinating with suppliers to ensure availability and timely replacements.
Requirements
  1. A high school diploma or equivalent and technical certification in wastewater treatment or a related field are preferred.
  2. Strong understanding of wastewater management principles and regulatory requirements.
  3. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
  4. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to various audiences.
  6. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
  7. Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
  8. Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
Additional Information

Preference will be given to candidates who know SCADA systems.
