An opportunity has arisen for a Drilling Engineer to join one of the largest international oil and gas exploration and production companies, based in Switzerland. The successful candidate will report directly to the Drilling Manager and work closely with the Drilling Superintendent, Contract Drilling Teams, Geologists, and Contract Engineers.

Key Responsibilities include:
  1. Lead engineer for Gabon and Cameroon exploration, delineation, and development operations.
  2. Support the Well Engineering Manager and perform drilling engineering and procedure writing in cooperation with support functions in Geneva.
  3. Identify technologies and solutions to determine the optimum methods of drilling these wells.
  4. Undertake special drilling studies as requested by the Asset, including feasibility studies for unconventional conditions, Field Development Plans, and drilling optimization studies.
  5. Prepare input for Well Proposals, TD, Basis Of Design, etc., in conjunction with the Support Team in Geneva.
  6. Prepare well cost estimates and submit as per procedure.
  7. Prepare and issue specialist reports on drilling-related aspects of operations.
  8. Conduct after-action reviews and assist in preparing the final well report.
  9. Develop and maintain drilling-related document archives.
  10. Provide duty cover and delegate tasks to the Well Engineering Manager as requested.
  11. Contribute to the development of new drilling policies, procedures, manuals, and guidelines in accordance with corporate standards.
Key Skills / Attributes:
  • Degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English and French; Chinese Mandarin is a plus.
  • Strong contract development and administration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills in a corporate environment.
  • Operational experience in West Africa.
  • Experience with start-up operations.
  • Offshore field experience as a Drilling Engineer/Supervisor.
