Scope of Position

The incumbent will provide service that goes beyond the guests' expectations by anticipating their needs and performing service based on standards set forth by management. He/she will also be responsible for handling special requests and maintaining a clean and organized workstation.

Responsibilities

1. General:

• Understand and comply with all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure that all business activities and decisions comply with the general law, rules, regulations, and other requirements.
• Support all learning and development activities.
• Safeguard stored information and not divulge personal data or confidential information unless authorized.
• Avoid unreasonable or inappropriate use of the hotel's network, computers, or internet access.
• Support and adhere to all policies & procedures relating to Safe, Sound and Sustainable at Mandarin Oriental.
• Comply with the MOHG Social Media Policy regarding content published on social media platforms.
• Adhere to the hotel's zero tolerance policy on harassment and discrimination.
• Carry out any additional duties requested by management related to hotel operations.

1. Departmental:

• Maintain a clean and presentable uniform, demonstrating professional appearance and hygiene standards.
• Complete mise en place shift to shift and during service for efficient service delivery.
• Have full knowledge of the menu and wine list to respond to guest requests satisfactorily.
• Greet guests and establish rapport to ensure satisfaction.
• Keep the restaurant clean and in appropriate order at all times.
• Assist and prepare all VIP amenities in compliance with our Legendary Quality Standards.
• Perform service steps to ensure guest satisfaction and compliance with our Legendary Quality Standards.
• Present all dishes according to hotel standards and food & beverage specifications.
• Deliver service in a friendly, courteous, and efficient manner according to hotel standards and guest requirements.
• Upsell services and products to enhance guest experience and generate increased revenue.
• Perform billing tasks according to hotel service standards and cashiering policies.
• Report any guest comments or complaints to the manager on duty in In Room Dining for prompt corrective action.
• Clear tables and trays efficiently to maintain rotation of silver, china, and glassware.
• Count linen on a rota basis.
• Cooperate with colleagues and provide practical support.
• Perform additional duties as related to the position or as prescribed by management.
  • Comply with safe working practices as laid down under FLHSS, being aware of specific hazards at the workplace.
  • Comply with local and relevant Food Hygiene Standards.
  • Wear appropriate protective clothing provided or recommended by the hotel.
  • Report any defects in the building, plant, or equipment according to hotel procedures.
  • Ensure any accidents to colleagues, guests, or visitors are reported in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Attend all statutory fire training and be conversant with all rules concerning fire, health & safety.
    • Be aware of Fire safety plans.
    • Adhere to Safe & Sound procedures regarding Health & safety.
    • Adhere to Safe & Sound procedures regarding HACCP standards.
      • Attend any training deemed appropriate by your Head of Department.
      • Be responsible for the Safe & Sound procedures followed by your peers.
        • Attend statutory fire training and abide by all rules concerning fire, health & safety.

        • Ensure guest satisfaction in accordance with MOHG standards and HACCP.
