Job Description
  1. Report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and name badges at all times.
  2. Coordinate with the Chef de Partie to organize the shift on your section, regarding mise-en-place production and service.
  3. Take orders from the Chef de Partie and execute them correctly.
  4. Assist the Chef de Partie in writing daily wine, dry store, food requisitions, and kitchen transfers for approval by the Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef to maintain high stock rotation.
  5. Maintain good employee relations and motivate colleagues.
  6. Follow specifications regarding portion size, quantity, and quality as per the recipe index.
  7. Complete daily checklists for mise-en-place and food storage.
  8. Attend daily and monthly meetings with the Chef de Cuisine and as requested by the Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef.
  9. Report machinery and equipment failures to the Chef de Cuisine and follow up on repairs.
  10. Check the main information board for updates on banquets and organizational changes.
  11. Keep the section clean and organized.
  12. Pass all relevant information to the next shift.
  13. Record accidents and sickness in the logbook and report to the Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef.
  14. Supervise Commis Chefs in personal hygiene and section responsibilities.
  15. Assist in developing new recipes and menu ideas.
  16. Adhere to the company's policies on fire safety, hygiene, and safety.
  17. Other tasks of similar nature may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
  1. Diploma or certification from a recognized culinary school.
  2. At least 2 years of culinary experience in a hotel kitchen.
  3. Excellent customer service, teamwork, interpersonal, communication, multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  4. Accountable, reliable, energetic, creative, and flexible.
  5. Ability to work efficiently within a team, under pressure, in a multicultural environment.
  6. Basic computer skills; knowledge of MS Office is an asset.
