Job Description

Wood is currently hiring for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our office in Muscat, Oman. In this role you will execute the tasks and activities associated with Civil Engineer on Project, under TL scope. Apply and expand hands-on experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, commissioning, and Operation in Oil and Gas industry. Responsible for supporting and execute general engineering activities directly linked to Civil engineering and associated interfaces.

Responsibilities

  1. Review Civil/Structural and Architectural Engineering Deliverables.
  2. Prepare the scope of Civil/Structural engineering applications work and project execution strategy for proposals. Participate in discussions at the concept stage with Asset Owners to assist the definition of the scope of work and project execution strategy.
  3. Prepare the necessary documentation, establishing major methods and data as necessary, and ensure the selection of the optimum Civil design from both technical and economic standpoints.
  4. Compile information from contractor reports; evaluate and analyze compiled information using Civil engineering standards and codes.
  5. Attend engineering reviews and meetings.
  6. Actively participate in the engineering reviews.
  7. Coordinate, prepare, and make a recording of engineering reviews as assigned by the Project.
  8. Follow up turnover of the Civil engineering documents.
  9. Participate in equipment selection and procurement process.
  10. Attend workshop and site inspection of civil facilities as the plan permits.
  11. Attend FAT and SAT of equipment as required.
  12. Participate in solving Civil engineering challenges that are recognized during the development of the Front End Package or detailed engineering.
  13. Review, monitor Geo-technical and topographical surveys, hydrological study works and reports.
  14. Inspect project site to monitor HSE, progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and project standards.
  15. Identify gaps in existing practices and tools and manage the process of developing new practices or toolkit items that enhance company technological offering.
  16. Reports any breaches of safety procedures to supervision/management.
  17. Participate pre and post contract award in discussions with Asset Owners to assess and assist in the definition of user requirements.
  18. Actively participates in and promotes company health and safety campaigns, policies and procedures, and ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times.
  19. Other relevant duties as requested from time to time.
  20. Execute work following the company's HSE and Quality management system.

Qualifications

  1. Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  3. Experience in Middle East is preferred.
  4. Proven core Civil Engineering skills, including design experience (FEED and detail engineering) and preferably in the Oil & Gas sector.
