Senior Accountant - Convention District Development Company (CDDC)

Purpose

The main purpose of the Senior Accountant is to prepare financial reports and perform accounting operations, maintaining records of assets, liabilities, revenue, expenditure, payments, taxes, and other financial activities. Additionally, the Senior Accountant conducts regular checks of the internal controls, leads the preparation of the monthly accounts closure of the operation, and ensures compliance with the budget and CDDC Financial Rules.

Strategic Contribution

  • Identify and provide feedback and suggestions to the finance team related to improvements to CDDC's policies, procedures, processes, financial systems, and related programs.

Operational Related Assignments

  • Review and verify supplier or contractor invoices received and processed daily to ensure correct recording.
  • Ensure compliance with company payment policies and contractual terms for all invoices.
  • Verify the completeness of work with respective department heads for high-value invoices and ensure timely payment within the respective authority.
  • Ensure all invoices raised by suppliers are verified, parked, and uploaded into the ERP system.
  • Prepare payment vouchers and attach all relevant documents like invoices and POs.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing for easy retrieval of all accounting-related documents.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements).
  • Prepare financial reports in support of the finance manager.
  • Conduct business studies and benchmarking exercises.
  • Analyze financial performance.
  • Handle project-based tasks and duties.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
  • A professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA or CPA, is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.
