The main purpose of the Business Development role is to support the identification, development, and coordination of business opportunities that align with CDDC's strategic goals within the Convention District. This includes assisting in market research, stakeholder coordination, proposal development, and supporting partnerships with operators, investors, and relevant entities. The role aims to ensure smooth execution of business initiatives while protecting CDDC's commercial interests and enhancing its visibility and market positioning.

Responsibilities

Strategic contribution

  • Assist the Business Development team in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities aligned with CDDC's strategic direction.
  • Support the preparation of business cases, presentations, and reports to aid decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, potential partners, and risks.
  • Assist in implementing departmental policies and procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance.

People

  • Collaborate with team members and other departments (Finance, Legal, Marketing) to support business initiatives.
  • Support knowledge sharing within the team and engage with cross-functional teams for smooth project handovers.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support development objectives and communication flow.

Operational

  • Coordinate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including hotel operators, investors, consultants, and government entities, maintaining professionalism and ethics.
  • Assist in preparing and organizing business development materials such as proposals, presentations, MoUs, and partnership briefs.
  • Support tracking and documentation of leads, partnerships, and negotiations using internal tools or CRM systems.
  • Conduct preliminary market research and compile data on competitors, market trends, and investment opportunities.
  • Assist in organizing meetings, site visits, and workshops with potential clients and partners.
  • Follow up on action items from meetings to ensure progress and alignment.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Legal teams on proposal development and contractual documentation.
  • Maintain understanding of business development plans, stakeholder expectations, and project priorities.
  • Contribute to process improvements in workflow, documentation, and internal coordination.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Development Manager or leadership.

Education & Experience

Education: Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field.

Experience: No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
