JOB PURPOSE

To drive the strategic direction of Information Technology by ensuring that the roadmap and KPIs are aligned with business objectives. The role also manages the digital transformation program to meet business goals and national mandates, overseeing project management governance and promoting best practices.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role involves shaping and driving the strategic direction of technology within the Oman Investment Authority, including developing and implementing the department's strategy, defining key objectives and KPIs, and aligning the technology roadmap with business needs. It leads the digital transformation strategy and roadmap, overseeing its execution to achieve business goals, and ensures project governance and best practices are followed.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and maintaining the Technology department's strategic plan aligned with the overall company strategy.
  2. Defining key objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics to evaluate success.
  3. Monitoring progress and providing insights for strategy adjustments.
  4. Collaborating with business units to ensure the technology roadmap supports current and future needs.
  5. Leading digital transformation initiatives and ensuring their effective implementation.
  6. Identifying and prioritizing digital initiatives that add value and improve efficiency.
  7. Overseeing digital project implementation and alignment with transformation goals.
  8. Fostering a culture of innovation and agility.
  9. Establishing project management governance frameworks and promoting best practices.
  10. Ensuring proper execution, monitoring, and reporting of all technology projects.
  11. Supporting project managers for timely and successful delivery.
  12. Developing a prioritization approach and supporting processes, tools, and metrics for digital innovation.
  13. Leading a digital innovation environment aligned with organizational objectives.
  14. Designing, owning, and evaluating digital innovations that leverage data and data science.
  15. Improving digital operating models for operations and service management.
  16. Staying informed on emerging technologies and trends impacting business operations.
  17. Managing policy development, communication, and implementation within the Digital Innovation Department.
  18. Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
  19. Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Master's Degree is a plus.
  • Certified Digital Transformation Practitioner, with strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) and digital technologies.
  • 11 to 13 years of relevant work experience.
