Engineer Dhofar Access Design Network Installation & Repair

Role Purpose
Provide comprehensive plans for new primary and secondary fixed networks (Copper/FOC/GPON), issue work orders to contractors, supervise their implementation, conduct site surveys for OSP Network Protection, ensure the preservation of existing networks, patrol to protect Copper/FOC cables from damage, and report any damages to the relevant authorities such as the Municipality and ROP.

Minimum Role Requirements

  • Qualification: Bachelor degree in Engineering
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in relevant field

Key Accountabilities

  • Design network solutions for Copper and Fiber for Backbone, 5G Sites, LTE, Access Protection, P2P, Microwave to FOC, FTTH, OLT.
  • Update all designs in GCOMM for new and existing projects.
  • Develop initial plans and conduct data analysis.
  • Prepare strategic plans and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Perform quarterly analysis and plan for future requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end projects ensuring completion on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Review excavation permits issued by the OSP team and provide necessary feedback.
  • Conduct surveys and supervise work by internal and external contractors.
  • Collaborate with project managers to monitor costs, schedules, and technical performance.
  • Establish relationships with authorities to facilitate approvals.
  • Prepare periodic progress reports and highlight issues promptly.
  • Provide regular updates to management on project status, issues, and achievements.
  • Ensure all WOs and projects adhere to Omantel standards.
  • Supervise and monitor WOs progress.
  • Prepare ongoing progress reports throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create reports tailored for specific teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth progress.
  • Monitor project schedules and coordinate with contractors and vendors.
  • Report to management on project progress and justify any changes to plans.
