Job Title: Transport Design Expert

This is a key position in our organization responsible for driving excellence in transport network design through innovative solutions and advanced frameworks that optimize network transport infrastructure and connectivity.

The role ensures the development and implementation of sophisticated transport solutions while maximizing network performance, capacity, and reliability across the transport layer.

A critical component of this position is providing expert technical leadership in transport network transformation initiatives, focusing on design optimization and innovation to enhance network capabilities.

• Assess Network Prerequisites: Determine suitable technological solutions based on Omantel network prerequisites, performance criteria, and growth trajectories.
• Design Transmission Solutions: Plan and design transmission solutions and end-to-end connectivity for rollout sites (5G, LTE, greenfield, USO, Adhoc), corporate, and fixed services through MW, PMP, Unlicensed MW, Fiber, or VSAT.
• Strategize Wireless Transport Technology: Align the network roadmap with current topology and capabilities by considering advancements in wireless transport technology.
• Optimize Microwave Backhaul Networks: Design microwave backhaul networks for efficient traffic aggregation and transport.
• Perform Link Budget Calculations: Conduct link budget calculations for optimal signal quality and coverage.
• Conduct Path Profiling Studies: Consider terrain, Fresnel zone, and atmospheric effects when conducting path profiling studies.
• Allocate Frequency Bands: Optimize spectrum utilization and minimize interference by allocating frequency bands effectively.
• Plan Capacity: Use predictive analytics to anticipate traffic demands and deploy high-capacity solutions like SDB, MBB, HRLB, E-bands, MIMO, and others.
• Manage Capacity Planning: Ensure sufficient transmission capacity for forecasts and requests by managing capacity planning.
• Monitor Microwave Network Performance: Optimize link parameters by monitoring microwave network performance.
• Plan Network Expansions: Implement network expansions to meet increased traffic and coverage needs.
• Optimize Infrastructure Utilization: Shift and migrate traffic to adhere to TRA guidelines and optimize infrastructure utilization.
• Lead RFP Evaluations: Assess vendor compliance with standards during RFP evaluations.
• Manage MW Frame Contracts: Coordinate procurement and contracts activities for MW Frame Contracts from issuance to delivery and implementation.
• Analyze ATN/IP Transport Network Plans: Develop ATN/IP transport network plans, architecture, and standards.
• Design ATN/IP Network Elements: Design and scope ATN/IP network elements based on forecasts and trends.
• Develop Technical Requirements: Prepare specifications, standards, and acceptance tests for network expansion.
• Prepare Tenders: Evaluate offers for IP Core network procurements.
• Coordinate with Planning Teams: Collaborate with planning teams for new expansion and technology integration.
• Manage Daily Activities: Execute transport network projects successfully using tools and resources.
• Provide Technical Expertise: Resolve problems with technical expertise.
• Generate Reports: Generate monthly reports on network utilization, plans, projects, and contracts.
• Update Management: Inform management regularly on network status, problems, and achievements.
