Assistant IT Auditor

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in audit field work and data analysis.
2. Carry out risk analysis and prepare or assist in preparing the audit plan or program focusing on IT applications, information, telecom processes, and governance reviews.
3. Assist in preparing the Internal Audit Plan.
4. Conduct internal audits and reviews, produce reports that highlight audit findings and issues, and provide recommendations to improve the business processes of the company.
5. Execute IT auditing tools to perform effective and efficient tests of key controls.
6. Execute and document audit work and conclude on the results of audit tests and overall effectiveness of controls.
7. Provide technical consultation to Audit Division staff and escalate audit issues to senior management.
8. Follow up on issues with senior managers to ensure carry-through of resolutions.
9. Draft audit reports in accordance with Division standards to clearly communicate risks and core audit issues.
10. Maintain current internal auditing knowledge in order to contribute to the development and continuous improvement of internal auditing methodologies, processes, and services.
11. Review the technical design of network/Application/IT Assets during the technical audit field work.
12. Perform periodic checks on telecom assets to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
13. Maintain follow-up register and assist Senior IT Audit team in producing follow-up audit reports.
14. Pursue professional development, including training and professional association memberships, and share information gained with co-workers.
15. Stay abreast of new pronouncements/standards, current business and economic developments, and/or other guidance relevant to the telecom business.
16. Perform or assist in the performance of special reviews or investigations at the request of seniors.
17. Assist in preparing various reports as requested by Senior Manager Technology Audit.
18. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge / Technical Skills:

1. Basic knowledge of International Auditing Standards.
2. Basic knowledge of Information Systems Audit Standards.
3. Knowledge of IT Auditing standards and best practices.
4. Knowledge of IT Network and security.
5. Basic knowledge of Telecom Operations.
6. Knowledge of IS Controls.
7. Knowledge of Databases and Operating Systems.

Education / Certifications:

Bachelor's/Master Degree in Computer Sciences or IT.

Experience:

A minimum of 1 – 2 years' experience.
