An opportunity has arisen for a Drilling Engineer to join one of the largest international oil and gas exploration and production companies, based in Switzerland. The successful candidate will report directly to the Drilling Manager and work closely with the Drilling Superintendent, Contract Drilling Teams, Geologists, and Contract Engineers.

Key Responsibilities include:
  1. Lead engineer for Gabon and Cameroon exploration, delineation, and development operations.
  2. Support the Well Engineering Manager and perform drilling engineering and procedure writing in cooperation with support functions in Geneva.
  3. Identify those technologies and solutions which are most likely to determine the optimum methods of drilling these wells.
  4. As requested by the Asset, undertake special drilling studies on specific topics, covering drilling feasibility studies for unconventional conditions, generic Field Development Plans (or updates), and any drilling optimization studies.
  5. Prepare all input to Well Proposals, TD, Basis Of Design etc. in conjunction with the Support Team in Geneva.
  6. Prepare all well cost estimates and submit as per procedure.
  7. Prepare and issue specialist reports on drilling related aspects of operations as required.
  8. Prepare and conduct after action reviews.
  9. Assist in the preparation of the final well report.
  10. Develop and maintain drilling related document archives.
  11. Provide duty cover and delegate to Well Engineering Manager as requested.
  12. Provide input to new drilling policies, procedures, manuals, and guidelines in accordance with corporate standards.
Key Skills / Attributes:
  1. Degree qualification or equivalent.
  2. Ability to fluently write and speak English, French (Chinese Mandarin would be a positive).
  3. Strong contract development and administration skills.
  4. Ability to function in a multi-discipline team.
  5. Ability to communicate in a corporate environment.
  6. Operational experience in West Africa.
  7. Exposure to start-up operations.
  8. Offshore field experience as a Drilling Engineer/Supervisor.
