Drilling Site Supervisor (28/28 Rotation)

We are currently working with a growing Oil & Gas Operator who are conducting production and exploration operations in the Middle East. Due to continuous growth, they are currently seeking an experienced Drilling Supervisor to be based on site 28/28 rotation in Oman.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure full implementation of annual HSE plan, with compliance checks as part of regular rig and/or Hoist inspection. Ensuring Contractors comply with HSEMS as per contract. Participating in "Health; Safety & Environment (HSE)" audits. Participate in incident investigations when appropriate.
  2. Ensures that all precautions are taken to ensure the Safety Environmental and Health policies and regulations are covered on the drilling/work over site.
  3. Manages the activities of the contractors at the drilling/work over site. Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority at the level established by Senior Management for this position.
  4. Reviews the assigned drilling/work over plan in detail and discusses with Drilling Engineer/Senior Drilling Engineer and/or Well Service Engineer. Develops a complete personal understanding of the drilling/work over plan in detail and completely. Verifies if required any aspects of the plan with the Drilling Engineer/Senior Drilling Engineer and/or Well Service Engineer and recommends technical changes where deemed necessary and prepares for the site start up.
  5. Reviews the field drilling data and relates to experience of drilling similar well types. Liaises with the contractors and issues work directions and instructions to drilling contractor, mud contractor, directional drilling contractors and well logging contractor and other site contractors as required.
  6. Undertakes planning with contractors to ensure that the drilling/work over program is completed on time and in budget and in a safe manner. Ensures that logistics of contractors are well planned.
Experience and Qualifications:
  1. Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline.
  2. Understanding of fluid dynamics is required.
  3. At least 8 years experience in drilling and work over operations as assistant and/or site Supervisor (minimum 5 years as DSV in Horizontal drilling).
  4. Good Excel skills, word skills, Familiar with Open Well and/or DIMS program.
  5. Good written and spoken English.
  6. Well Control Certificate.
