Job Purpose:
The Compensation & Benefits Sr. Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of payroll, record keeping, payroll reconciliation, and reporting. The incumbent should coordinate compensation activities to ensure all pay data is compiled, processed, and reconciled on time.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
- Input and verify employee personnel, salary, and benefits information from source documents in the HRIS, forming the basis for payroll records.
- Check time & attendance records, leave applications, loan repayments, contributions, and input any deductions from the employee's monthly salary.
- Add any additional payments to be made to employees as part of the monthly salary.
- Collect, analyze, enter, calculate, and verify payroll information.
- Prepare overtime forms and enter data into the payroll application.
- Calculate and input non-routine payments such as sickness, maternity, paternity, bonuses, etc.
- Compile, verify, and run the monthly staff payroll, resolving all employee payroll issues to ensure timely payments.
- Support payroll policy revisions and communicate updates effectively.
- Share bank transfer details with bank authorities promptly.
- Adhere to Compensation and Benefits policies.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including leave balances, medical insurance, dependents, benefits, and annual leave.
- Process merit increments, back pays, and prepare pension fund reports and social insurance invoices.
- Comply with company policies and procedures at all times.
- Provide management with employee-related information as needed.
- Analyze employee turnover data and recommend strategies for staff retention.
- Manage employee exit processes, including full and final settlements.
- Maintain salary fitment records for all employees, including new joiners, in line with compensation guidelines.
- Identify and plan for expenses aligned with business objectives.
- Contribute to the department/section's budget finalization and monitor expenditures.
- Highlight deviations from the budget and prepare business cases for unplanned expenses.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding staff and organizational matters.
- Participate in the development of the annual plan and budget for the Compensation & Benefits Section.
- Liaise with management and other line managers for departmental efficiency.
- Participate in management and supervisory meetings as required.
- Produce end-of-month departmental reports timely and accurately.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly records are kept up-to-date as per management requirements.
- Ensure team members understand tasks and perform diligently.
- Support team members and relief staff as needed.
- Educate employees and raise awareness of policy changes through training sessions, emails, or meetings.
- Perform any additional tasks as requested by the line manager.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or Higher Diploma in Human Resources or related field.
- HR professional with 3 years of experience as a bachelor's degree holder.
- 7 years of experience as a Diploma holder.
- Specialized in compensation and benefits, with a strong understanding of Omani Labor Law and social contributions.
