Based at InterContinental Muscat, the Multi Skilled Technician is responsible for supporting the whole engineering team. Under the guidance of the Heat, Light and Power Engineer or Repairs and Maintenance Engineer, the technician operates, maintains, and repairs all aspects of the hotel's electrical & mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with IHG standards to achieve optimum operating efficiency at all times.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you'll mostly be:

  • Carries out routine maintenance and repairs to all types of electrical & mechanical equipment such as laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment including AHU's, motors and motor controls, fans, water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, hotel water pumps, chilled water pumps, electrical panels and emergency generators.
  • Attends to repairs and maintenance of transformers and electrical low-tension panels.
  • Attends to electrical and ancillaries' installations such as audio/video cables, computer cables and MTAV systems.
  • Attends to all types of repairs and maintenance work in the hotel premises, including any new additional/extensions to the hotel or any other properties maintained by the hotel.
  • Responds to guest maintenance requests within 15 minutes of receipt.
  • Ensures that the supplied uniform is clean and in good repair. Always maintains a clean and tidy appearance before entering guest or public areas.
  • Ensures that the plant rooms, workshop, and related areas are kept in clean and tidy condition.
  • Observes prescribed safety standards and helps maintain safe conditions for self and others.
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.

What We need from you:
  • Associate's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
