JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Analyst to join OIA's Valuation Team who will play a crucial role in performing and facilitating valuation of OIA's investments for financial reporting purposes. This role requires strong understanding of the valuation of companies and different asset classes; and the ability to present and communicate valuation conclusion to different stakeholders effectively.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Understand operations, ownership structure, business drivers and capital structure of OIA's investee companies and assets.


• Establish communication line with OIA companies and other stakeholders to obtain financial statements, business plans, management presentations, board documents and other required information.


• Develop and analyze financial models for valuation purpose.


• Perform financial analysis of historical performance and assess assumptions and drivers underlying financial forecasts or business plans.


• Perform company or asset valuation using income approach, market approach or asset-based approaches.


• Document all analyses, methodologies, and assumptions clearly and accurately.


• Prepare comprehensive valuation reports that clearly articulate valuation methodologies, assumptions, and conclusions.


• Present valuation conclusion to different stakeholders.


• Develop and define the valuation scope of work for underlying assets to be valued externally.


• Manage the process of appointing external valuators (submit RFPs, review proposals, engagement letters, etc.)


• Discuss and agree with external valuators on the most appropriate valuation approach/methodology for different asset classes


• Establish communication line with OIA companies and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient flow of information to the external valuators.


• Thorough review and analysis of valuation reports from external valuators and challenge approach or assumptions, if necessary.


• Present and discuss approaches and key assumptions in the valuation report with the Valuation Manager and other stakeholders.


• Gather and analyze industry, market, and economic data relevant to the valuation from various sources (e.g. Capital IQ, IMF)


• Awareness of global economic trends and geopolitical factors that may affect different markets and on valuation of different asset classes.


• Assess and synthesize industry-specific risks from valuation perspective


• Stay updated on recent M&A, industry trends, economic developments, regulatory changes, etc.


• Comply with the implementation of the Valuation department's policies and procedures, to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled.


• Comply with all relevant health, safety, and quality requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.


• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account 'leading best practices', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or any relevant field
  • CFA, CA, ACCA, FMVA, CMA, CIMA is preferable
