Dealer - Treasury Dealing Room

Job Purpose:

To act as part of a dealing team managing foreign exchange customer/inter-bank cover and money market operations and nostro actual and mirror account balances in the currencies desk allocated to him in terms of the dealing roster. To assist when needed, treasury Sales desk to interact with customers on their treasury/foreign exchange needs.

Key Tasks and Duties:

• Arrange approval for special foreign exchange rates for branches and customers & perform cover operations for foreign exchange for business reported from branches and Corporate sales desk within the Bank's dealing guidelines and market risk mandate.
• Follow up on branch and other internal customer enquiries
• To assist Treasury Sales desk to interact with customers on their treasury/foreign exchange needs
• Manage through swaps/placements and funds transfer, the balances in the respective currencies single or multiple nostro accounts
• Maintain CBO balances for Rial Omani money market, to achieve the required reserves and deploy the surplus efficiently. Optimize lending ratio management
• Follow the dealing process as laid down in the Treasury Front office manual.
• Ensure regulatory and internal compliance including dealers' code of conduct for the area of his operation.
• Advise and give feedback to Head Inter-Bank FX/MM and ALM & Head Treasury of changes/improvements warranted in the dealing procedures
• Deal within unexpired and valid counter-party (customer & inter-bank) limits and open position limits for currencies
• Provide input to the Head – Interbank FX/MM and ALM and Head – Treasury for development of the annual divisional budget
• Assist Head – Interbank FX/ MM and Head – Treasury in any assignment as and when required

Qualifications

A Degree in a relevant subject such as Banking or Finance or an appropriate subject with mathematical aptitude.

Experience

At least 2 years in Treasury Dealing with the professional experiences of being assigned or working in major dealing rooms. A proven ability to prepare research reports and valuations is essential.
