
Sr Specialist Portfolio Management

Job purpose
Execute OQ Group's interest in specific companies (assets), under the Head of Asset Management, acting as a team player & primary liaison between investments assigned and OQ Group as required. This involves: (1) Monitoring asset performance and driving value addition, (2) Providing regular reports comparing actual to projected performance and ensuring portfolio compliance, and (3) Assessing economic valuation, risks, and developing mitigation measures to optimize performance and reliability. The role supports the Group's Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, adhering to policies, international standards, legal requirements, and best practices, supported by IT platforms, HSE standards, and national objectives.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Asset Strategy Development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define asset management strategies aligned with business goals.
• Support shareholder strategy development for assets ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and energy transition goals.
• Review and monitor asset business plan implementation in collaboration with planning teams and Board nominees.
• Cascade KPIs and strategic initiatives to relevant assets to achieve OQ targets.
• Identify and develop synergies across the portfolio.
• Prepare financial projections with the planning team, understanding cash flow and profitability implications.
• Support asset divestment activities and assess their impact on the portfolio.
• Assist in business development activities for managed assets.
Asset Performance Monitoring
• Review asset performance based on business plans and KPIs, highlighting concerns for timely action.
• Identify strategy implementation shortfalls and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate asset data on operational and financial performance.
• Communicate asset performance to portfolio management leadership.
• Assess and develop risk mitigation plans for asset operational risks.
Asset Management and Execution
• Support economic evaluation and develop risk mitigation measures.
• Lead implementation of shareholder strategic initiatives to enhance asset value.
• Support asset governance and strategic planning.
• Engage with Board nominees and asset teams to develop and challenge strategies.
• Manage interaction between OQ and assets, acting as the primary data and information focal point.
Risk Management
• Identify and assess operational risks, developing mitigation plans and ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
Capital Investment Planning
• Collaborate on capital investment plans for upgrades, replacements, and expansions, conducting feasibility and cost-benefit analyses.
Asset Data Management & Reporting
• Provide periodic reports on asset performance, compliance, and financial models.
Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure adherence to applicable regulations and standards, updating practices as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Facilitate communication and record keeping with asset owners and stakeholders.
• Participate in group meetings, board, or steering committees.
Continuous Improvement
• Lead initiatives for process and system improvements, monitor industry trends, and foster innovation.

Internal: OQ Group Assets/Subsidiaries, OQ SAOC Streams
External: Consultants, Government entities
Working conditions
Office environment, extensive computer use, occasional site visits.
Education requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; Master's or CFA preferred.
Language skills
Fluent in English; Arabic is desirable.
Experience and skills
6-8+ years relevant experience, asset management expertise, industry understanding, reporting skills, continuous improvement mindset, financial analysis, and modeling skills.
