Job purpose
Supervise the execution of the safe & efficient well drilling activities during assigned shift for development, appraisal and exploration wells. Support drilling engineers with operational challenges, training, and technical support.

The position will act in accordance with the Group's Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, policies, guidelines, standards, supported by IT platforms, HSE standards, legal requirements, and international best practices aligned with national objectives.

HSE Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input during HSE emergency incidents or well control events arising from Well Engineering activities.
  • Implement the Well Delivery HSSE annual plan and ensure compliance with OQ HSSE requirements.
  • Assist in closing out HSE actions from audits or incident investigations.
  • Participate in high potential HSE incident investigations, ensuring adherence to OQ investigation processes and timely reporting.
  • Represent Well Delivery during emergencies as per the Emergency Response Plan.
  • Promote personal safety and safety of others at work.
  • Contribute to the company's occupational health, safety, security, and environmental culture.
  • Ensure work complies with HSE policies and meets company HSE goals and targets.

Operations Roles & Responsibilities

  • Execute work instructions for drilling and service activities, including drilling, casing, cementing, well integrity, petrophysical and geological data acquisition, fluid management, remedial, and completion operations.
  • Select appropriate tools for bottom hole assemblies to optimize performance.
  • Monitor equipment controls to ensure safe pipe movement and well control.

Understanding of Down-hole Conditions

  • Address drilling problems caused by earth stress disturbances and earth formation interactions.
  • Maintain pressure balance in open/sable holes considering earth stresses, pore pressure, and mud chemistry.
  • Perform field calculations for cementing jobs.
  • Supervise rig-up and rig-down operations, including transit, ensuring HSE standards.
  • Execute drilling tasks within operational envelopes as per OQ/OEM standards.
  • Prepare detailed post-well performance review reports.
  • Liaise with Senior Drilling Engineer for operational optimization or remedial work, and revise work instructions according to change management processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
  • Strong background in petroleum engineering or G&G, with management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and sensitivity to multicultural environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; managerial experience in Oil & Gas subsurface fields, resource control, contract management, and general management.
