Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Drilling Site Supervisor to join our team. This is a 28/28 rotation position based in Oman.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full implementation of the annual HSE plan, with compliance checks as part of regular rig and/or hoist inspection. They will also ensure that contractors comply with HSEMS as per contract, participate in 'Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)' audits, and participate in incident investigations when appropriate.

  • Safety Precautions

The successful candidate will take all necessary precautions to ensure safety, environmental, and health policies and regulations are covered on the drilling/workover site.

  • Contractor Management

The successful candidate will manage the activities of contractors at the drilling/workover site, perform supervisory functions, and exercise financial authority at the level established by senior management for this position.

  • Drilling/Workover Plan

The successful candidate will review the assigned drilling/workover plan in detail, discuss it with the Drilling Engineer/Senior Drilling Engineer and/or Well Service Engineer, develop a complete personal understanding of the plan, verify any required aspects with the Drilling Engineer/Senior Drilling Engineer and/or Well Service Engineer, recommend technical changes where necessary, and prepare for site startup.

  • Field Data Review

The successful candidate will review field drilling data, relate it to experience of drilling similar well types, liaise with contractors, issue work directions and instructions to drilling contractor, mud contractor, directional drilling contractors, and well logging contractor and other site contractors as required.

  • Planning and Logistics

The successful candidate will undertake planning with contractors to ensure the drilling/workover program is completed on time and in budget, in a safe manner, and that logistics of contractors are well planned.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education

A degree in engineering or a relevant discipline is required.

  • Experience and Skills

The successful candidate should have at least 8 years' experience in drilling and workover operations as an assistant and/or site supervisor (minimum 5 years as DSV in horizontal drilling), good Excel skills, word skills, familiarity with Open Well and/or DIMS program, and good written and spoken English.

  • Certifications

A Well Control Certificate is also required.
