QC Supervisor

To perform quality control through sampling, inspection, and laboratory analysis of ruminant and fish feed raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods. To ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 22001, 45001, 14001 and 17025 standards, BAP, GMP and FAMIQS, Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Areas of responsibilities

Role Objective

To perform quality control through sampling, inspection, and laboratory analysis of ruminant and fish feed raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods. To ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 22001, 45001, 14001 and 17025 standards, BAP, GMP and FAMIQS, Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Areas of responsibilities
Quality Control and Laboratory Analysis

• Prepare and update quality plans for inspections, sampling and analysis for raw materials, in process products and finished feeds.
• Perform sampling, inspection, and testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and final products as per quality plan.
• Supervise and carryout laboratory analysis for physical, screening, proximate, sinking and floating test for feeds and raw materials.
• Ensure that all analytical activities comply with approved quality plans, ISO 17025 standards, and GLP protocols.
• Analyze and interpret laboratory data accurately and report non-conformances promptly.
• Validate analytical methods and ensure calibration and proper functioning of laboratory equipment.
• Maintain complete and traceable laboratory records in line with ISO 17025 documentation requirements.
• Other duties as assigned within the scope of job role.

IMS Coordination

• Play a leading role in preparing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), manuals, and IMS documentation as per various ISO standards like 9001, 22001, 14001, 45001, BAP, GMP and FAMI-QS and 17025.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the Integrated Management System (IMS) in the production line from purchase of raw materials to dispatch of finished feed.
• Participate in internal audits, management review meetings, and other IMS-related activities.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

• Follow all laboratory safety procedures, ensuring safe handling of chemicals and biological materials.
• Promote adherence to occupational health and safety regulations and environmental standards.

Equipment and Inventory Management

• Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and servicing schedules for laboratory equipment.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of chemicals, consumables, and laboratory supplies to ensure smooth operations.

Research & Development Support

• Assist in research and development (R&D) projects related to new bio-based products or improvement of existing products.
• Support experimental trials, method development, and pilot batch analysis.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS GUIDELINES
Education: (Minimum)

Bachelor's in Food Science, cereals and grain science, animal nutrition, fisheries sciences, feed manufacturing technology or a closely related field.

Experience: (Years and nature of experience)

• 3 to 5 years of experience, preferably in quality control of feed and raw materials.
• Experience with preparation of IMS documents and implementation of system.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory analysis, method validation, and ISO 17025.

Special Skills & Knowledge

• Documentation, implementation and audit skills as per ISO 9001, ISO 22001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, BAP, GMP and FAMI-QS.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques for feed and raw material testing.
• Understanding of ISO 17025 and GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).
• Data analysis, interpretation, and report writing skills.
• Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance knowledge.
• Good knowledge of occupational health and safety practices in laboratories.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team environment.

Business Understanding

• General understanding of the business of feed manufacturing.
• Sound Knowledge of export and regulatory requirements of different countries.
