Role Purpose

Minimum Role Requirements
  • Qualification: Bachelor in relevant field, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CEH, CIPM, CIPP, CISM.
  • Experience: Senior Proficient: 8 years of experience
Key Accountabilities
  • Lead and contribute to audit assignments as per the annual internal audit plan, focusing on cybersecurity and data protection best practices.
  • Assess the design and effectiveness of security controls like access management, encryption, vulnerability management, incident response, and security monitoring.
  • Evaluate data privacy governance and controls over personal or sensitive information across Omantel systems and processes.
  • Provide security advice on best practices for projects, system implementations, migrations, or major changes.
  • Conduct audit reviews considering emerging technology threats such as cloud security and AI governance.
  • Assess control effectiveness and provide actionable remediation recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in cybersecurity and data protection.
  • Support follow-up reviews on internal audit findings and prepare reports for stakeholders.
  • Assist the SM in providing advisory services related to technology audits.
  • Guide the audit team technically to enhance audit effectiveness, focusing on security and privacy controls.
  • Develop audit reports and participate in closing meetings to discuss findings and management responses.
  • Lead and execute audit engagements as per the approved plan and ad hoc requests.
  • Recommend improvements to processes and controls to meet cybersecurity and data privacy standards and mitigate risks.
