Job description:

Role Purpose
Pricing & Costing Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that AWASR's full suite of telecommunications & ICT products are both competitively priced and financially sustainable. This position is responsible for all cost allocations and pricing calculations across consumer, enterprise and wholesale products.
The specialist will develop and maintain detailed cost models, fully responsible for managing and analysing all aspects of product costing, pricing, and performance. The specialist will continually perform pricing analyses to maximize profitability and oversee national wholesale billing processes. This includes reconciling inter-operator invoices, vendor invoices, ensuring billing accuracy, and managing settlements with partners through product or procurement team and settlements with telecom operators through national wholesale team.
The role requires a blend of financial acumen, analytical expertise, telecom & ICT industries insight to support data-driven pricing decisions and maintain healthy profit margins. The Specialist - Pricing, Costing will be responsible to provide full support to VP Products, Senior Managers in Products and Product Managers in devising, maintaining, and implementing product pricing, product costing models, overall costing, product perfromance and Product P&L analysis.
The Specialist - Pricing, Costing & Performance will be responsible on supporting new products pricing that are demanded, competitive on price, competitive on features and customer experience, deliver solid gross margin and ensure proper management of value proposition.
The Specialist - Pricing, Costing & Performance will ensure overlooking and reporting perfromance of existing products from profitability and ensure the products remain competitive on features and price and remain profitable as per requirements.
The Specialist - Pricing, Costing & Performance focus on Gross profit. Value proposition. Competitive mapping. Business cases. Analytics on product performance. Manage cannibalisation. Ownership over gross profit margin through setting prices.
The Specialist - Pricing, Costing & Performance Contribute positively to the achievement of Awasr's overall values and objectives.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Operational Accountabilities
* Cost Modelling & Allocation:
* Develop and maintain comprehensive cost models for all AWASR telecom products (e.g. broadband packages, voice services).
* Ensure accurate allocation of network costs, operational expenses, and overheads to each product offering, updating models as costs or service parameters change.
* Perform regular cost analysis to identify cost drivers and opportunities for optimization.
* Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.

* Pricing Strategy & Analysis:
* Develop and implement effective pricing strategies and models.
* Develop and manage pricing databases and tracking systems.
* Conduct detailed pricing calculations for new and existing products to ensure offerings are both competitive in the market and meet target profit margins.
* Work closely with the Product Management team to set price points, promotions, and discounts based on cost inputs, value proposition, and competitive benchmarking.
* Continuously monitor product profitability and recommend price adjustments or cost-saving measures when necessary to achieve financial goals.

* Wholesale Billing Management:
* Oversee the national wholesale billing cycle for inter-operator services.
* Analyse and reconcile wholesale invoices received from partner operators (e.g., national infrastructure providers or other carriers) to verify accuracy and identify any discrepancies, overcharges, or billing errors.
* Maintain thorough documentation of billing records and reconciliation results for audit and reporting purposes.

* Inter-Operator Settlements:
* Ensure timely and accurate inter-operator billing and settlements between AWASR and other telecom operators.
* Prepare outgoing invoices for services provided to other operators and verify incoming charges from them.
* Manage dispute resolution by working closely with external partners to resolve billing issues and negotiate credits or refunds when necessary.

* Revenue Assurance & Accuracy:
* Take end-to-end ownership of the products costing and pricing.
* Implement checks and controls to assure billing accuracy and revenue recognition.
* Audit wholesale and retail billing data to ensure all services are billed according to contract terms and correct rates.
* Investigate and promptly resolve any detected revenue leakage or billing anomalies, maintaining a high level of accuracy in all financial calculations.

* Cross-Functional Collaboration:
* Work closely with business stakeholders to help define the product price strategy that meets the customer needs.
* Take part in new product development activities, and technical performance reviews of the product.
* Collaborate with internal teams including Finance, Accounting, Product Development, Sales, and Network Operations to gather necessary data and ensure alignment on pricing and cost assumptions.
* Work with Finance on budgeting and forecasting by providing input on the cost of service and expected margins for products.
* Coordinate with the Accounts Payable team to validate and approve wholesale invoices, and with Accounts Receivable if inter-operator charges need collection.
* Ensuring the leadership team has full visibility in the progress in the portfolio and can confidently provide strategic support when needed, without requiring explicit motivation.

* Market & Regulatory Analysis:
* Stay informed about market trends, competitor pricing moves, and regulatory guidelines in Oman's telecom sector that could impact product pricing or wholesale charges.
* Ensure all pricing and billing practices comply with AWASR's pricing policies and any regulatory requirements from the Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRA).
* Provide insights and reports to management on how market or regulatory changes might affect pricing strategies.

* Reporting & Documentation:
* Analyse complex financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability.
* Prepare clear reports and presentations on product costs, price profitability analyses, and wholesale billing statuses for senior management.
* Highlight key findings such as margin trends, cost variances, or billing discrepancy resolutions.
* Maintain detailed documentation of pricing calculations, cost allocation methodologies, and billing reconciliation outcomes to support transparency and audits.

* Process Improvement:
* Identify opportunities to improve pricing workflows and billing processes. This includes streamlining costing methodologies (possibly by introducing new tools or templates), improving the accuracy and efficiency of invoice reconciliation (e.g., by better use of billing software or automation), and updating internal procedures.
* Recommend and help implement enhancements to the pricing & billing systems to optimize efficiency and reduce errors.

* Other Related Duties:
* Perform additional analysis or tasks as required, such as supporting contract negotiations with suppliers by providing cost analysis, assisting in developing business cases for new product initiatives with pricing/cost inputs, and contributing to internal audits or financial reviews related to product costs and revenues.

Role Requirements

Educational Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.

Professional Qualifications & Experience
* Graduate with 5-7 years of experience, in a similar role within the telecom or ICT industry.
* Postgraduate with 3-5 years of experience, in a similar role within the telecom or ICT industry.

Sector of Previous Experience
* Proven experience in a similar role.

Language Requirements for Role
English mandatory.
