To provide reliable, comprehensive, timely and well-informed legal advice and support in relation to OIA s assets in Oman to identify, eliminate or mitigate risk and defend the interests of OIA and its affiliates.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and provide legal advice and review, draft and analyze documents and contracts, including transactional documents and negotiate as required to protect OIA s assets and facilitate OIA s operations.

Provide legal assessment, interpretation, recommendations and representation on day-to-day issues to OIA s management and the management of OIA s Oman entities to ensure they maintain their operations in compliance with legal requirements and stay updated on relevant legal matters.

Update and inform OIA s management and employees of any relevant updates to applicable Oman laws and regulations to enhance legal awareness.

Select and recommend the appointment of external legal counsel where appropriate and oversee the management and coordination of that counsel to ensure that its services are delivered in an timely and efficient manner.

Oversee the OIA legal team in relation to OIA assets in Oman and provide the team with feedback and information necessary to maximize team performance, achieve sectional objectives and keep the team updated on the legal environment in Oman.

Identify areas of development and recommend training required to ensure the legal team develops both technical and commercial skills required to achieve desired results and ensure legal standards are met.

Oversee the legal team s daily operations in relation to OIA s Oman assets by providing expertise, enabling teamwork, preparing necessary documentation and aligning processes to achieve high performance standards and meet established legal targets.

Develop and execute appropriate legal strategies and solutions to ensure facilitation of OIA s commercial objectives in Oman including those related to OIA s subsidiaries in Oman.

Oversee legal documents organization and the development of a case file system to ensure the safe custody of all legal documents and agreements.

Oversee the compilation of standard OIA template documents to streamline the related processes and reduce legal risks.

Comply with the implementation of departmental policies and procedures, to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled.

Comply with all relevant health, safety, and quality requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.

Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading best practices , improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • University or graduate level degree in law or equivalent
  • LLM or any other legal certificates
  • 16+ years of related experience
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Fluency in Arabic is essential
