Financial Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Chief Accountant to lead our accounting team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions.

About the Role

The Chief Accountant will report to the Assistant Director of Finance and will be responsible for overseeing the daily routines of the accounting department. This includes monitoring and supervising account reconciliations, account analysis, and closing procedures at month end.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for verifying the accuracy of all internal reporting, including daily bank balances through review of bank statements and preparing bank reconciliations for submission to management. Additionally, they will ensure the accuracy of municipality fees and licenses reporting and payment, and verify that general ledger (GL) and sub-ledger (SL) postings are accurate.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to conduct productive monthly departmental meetings with the Assistant Director of Finance to communicate pertinent departmental, hotel, and company information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Assistant Director of Finance in ensuring all accounting colleagues understand and follow applicable policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and supervise accounting department's daily routines to ensure smooth, effective, and efficient work practices.
  • Prepare and supervise account reconciliations, account analysis, and closing procedures at month end.
  • Verify accuracy of all night audit/hotel revenue transactions and monitor adherence to established procedures.
