Head of Operations and Maintenance

We are seeking an experienced production leader to drive operational excellence and profitability in a competitive market. The ideal candidate will oversee all operations and maintenance across diverse production units, ensuring efficiency, quality, compliance, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to maximize efficiency, minimize waste, and meet production targets across all units.
  • Process Standardization: Standardize processes and best practices to ensure uniformity in quality and compliance across facilities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives like lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 solutions to achieve operational excellence.
  • Maintenance Strategy: Establish and oversee a comprehensive maintenance strategy, combining preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Maintenance Management System: Implement a centralized system for tracking and analyzing maintenance activities.
  • Maintenance Metrics: Monitor key metrics such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) to optimize equipment performance.
  • Spare Parts and Inventory Management: Collaborate with procurement to ensure the availability of critical spare parts while controlling maintenance inventory costs.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing production and maintenance team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and collaboration.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and cross-skilling for both production and maintenance teams to ensure versatility and preparedness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all facilities adhere to regulatory and industry standards.
  • Quality Control: Maintain rigorous quality control systems to deliver consistent product quality and compliance.
  • Safety and Statutory Requirements: Ensure maintenance activities align with safety and statutory requirements.
  • Budget Management: Manage operational and maintenance budgets, focusing on cost control and resource allocation.
  • KPI Analysis: Analyze KPIs for both production and maintenance to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Procurement and Inventory Management: Optimize procurement, inventory management, and maintenance schedules to reduce costs and improve margins.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and execute sustainability initiatives, focusing on waste reduction, energy efficiency, and water management.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, food technology, or a related field; MBA is an added advantage.
  • 15+ years of experience managing diverse production units and maintenance functions, preferably in FMCG or food industries.
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing, quality management, and modern maintenance practices.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry frameworks and international standards.
