Senior Engineering Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our design engineering team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in designing and detailing industrial plants, with a focus on gas-based power plants.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in commissioning and supervising projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results. They should also possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with clients, internal teams, and external design consultants.

A key responsibility of this role is to guide the design team in preparing specifications, evaluating vendor bids, and overseeing vendor drawing checking and approval processes. Additionally, the candidate will participate in client discussions, contribute to value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs, and ensure that all engineering activities align with company objectives.

This position requires a collaborative leader who can motivate and direct a team of design engineers to deliver high-quality results while adhering to project timelines and budgets.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with EPC tender specifications, including coordination with other disciplines for preparing tagged items for power and oil & gas plants. They should also have experience in handling outside design consultants and knowledge of engineering software development, although this is not essential.

Job Description:
- Lead a team of design engineers to support all aspects of engineering at both proposal and project execution stages.
- Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and external design consultants to ensure timely delivery and high-quality results.
- Prepare specifications, evaluate vendor bids, and oversee vendor drawing checking and approval processes.
- Participate in client discussions and contribute to value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs.
- Ensure all engineering activities align with company objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, civil, or chemical).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in design engineering, preferably in the power generation sector.
- Strong understanding of design principles and practices, with expertise in CAD software (e.g., Autodesk, SolidWorks).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of engineers.
- Experience in commissioning and supervising projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines.
