Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Educator to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons aligned with the IB framework, fostering critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and global citizenship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning:
    • Teach Business courses at the MYP and DP levels (or equivalent).
    • Develop and deliver lessons that align with the IB philosophy, emphasizing inquiry, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary connections.
    • Foster a learning environment that encourages students to explore real-world issues, analyze case studies, and apply theory to practice.
    • Prepare students for IB assessments and exams, ensuring they meet and exceed academic expectations.
  • Curriculum Development and Assessment:
    • Design and refine curriculum content for Business in line with IB requirements.
    • Develop innovative and engaging assessments that measure students' understanding and skills.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Leadership Responsibilities:
    • Lead the Business department, providing strategic direction and support to teachers.
    • Oversee curriculum planning, development, and alignment with IB standards.
    • Mentor and support colleagues, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
    • Monitor and enhance teaching quality through observation, feedback, and professional development.
    • Manage departmental resources and budgets effectively.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding academic progress and department initiatives.
    • Represent the department in school-wide meetings and initiatives.
  • Contribution to School Life:
    • Actively participate in extracurricular activities, such as clubs, competitions, and community service projects.
    • Support school events, open days, and parent-teacher conferences.
    • Promote the school's mission of fostering global citizenship and lifelong learning.
  • Professional Development:
    • Engage in ongoing IB training and professional development to stay updated with the latest curriculum changes and teaching strategies.
    • Share expertise with colleagues through workshops and collaborative planning.
