Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Cost Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for civil engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the civil engineering sector, demonstrating progressive responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for civil engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to advise on the financial viability of projects.
  • Manage procurement processes, including tendering and contractor selection, to secure the best value for projects.
  • Monitor project progress and expenditure, providing regular reports to stakeholders on financial performance.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contract variations and claims to protect the financial interests of the project.
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure design and construction align with budgetary constraints.
  • Implement cost control measures and strategies to optimize spending without compromising quality.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and market trends to provide informed financial advice.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams and clients to resolve financial queries and disputes.
  • Assist in the preparation of final accounts and financial statements upon project completion.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the civil engineering sector, demonstrating progressive responsibility.
