About the Role

">
  1. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Sequence Stratigraphy concepts, and be able to develop stratigraphic frameworks and reservoir architectures based on these concepts.
  2. They will also be responsible for validating correlations with seismic, pressure data (MDT/XPT), and reservoir performance.
  3. In addition, they will participate in the construction and updating of static geological models, including geological tops or picks, well correlations, sand mapping, OOIP calculations, and support for special studies such as stress analysis and sismo-stratigraphy.
  4. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge in Petroleum Geology, Structural Geology, Stratigraphy, Sedimentology, Reservoir and Production engineering, Petrophysics, Geomechanics, and Geochemistry.
  5. They should also have geotechnical integration and interpretation software skills, specifically with Petrel or similar software.
  6. Field experience is mandatory, and the candidate should have a solid background in drilling and completion technology.
  7. A leadership role, with ability to make recommendations and suggestions in the decision-making process, is essential.
  8. Excellent communication skills are required, as well as initiative, creativity, dynamism, responsibility, and an open mind to new ideas and technology.
  9. Mentoring, coaching, and supervising junior geologists are also part of the responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and prepare development opportunities, supporting drilling locations according to geological documents and helping build the development portfolio.
  • Work jointly with the Sub-surface team in the Field Development Plan, preparing documents required internally, by partners, and government offices.
  • Evaluate and justify appraisal and development locations, providing information for proposal preparation.
  • Evaluate the impact of appraisal in the reservoir characterization process and reserves results.
  • Integrate new well information to evaluate reserves and resources implications.
  • Collaborate with Production and Reservoir engineers in solving production/injection problems, such as injectivity issues, formation damage, scale, sand production, and other field-related issues.
  • Support counterparts in successful drilling field operations for directional drilling, casing points, unstable intervals, drilling risks, and gas, faults, etc.
  • Responsible for geological information data management in the Sub-surface Team.
  • Bring support for special data acquisitions, define, prepare, and execute work programs for G&G teams.
  • Mentor younger members to understand field production problems and solutions.
  • Participate in generating and updating the geological model as part of an integrated static model, updating stratigraphic, sedimentological, structural information, and fluids data.
  • Define reservoir continuity and field compartments.
  • Plan, acquire, and interpret core data and special geological tools like CMR or FMI to improve reservoir understanding, production performance, and hydrocarbons quantification.
  • Perform facies analysis and build a sedimentological model.
  • Determine diagenetic evidence and prepare a diagenetic model.
  • Prepare sedimentological maps and properties maps.
  • Build a 3D geological model.
  • Geological Data Management for the Subsurface Team.
  • QA/QC core data, logs, and tests.
  • Coordinate conventional and special core analysis.
