Strategic Development and Planning

The Vice President – Strategy & Planning is responsible for leading the strategic development and corporate planning functions. This position is critical in shaping the airport's long-term vision, aligning business operations with national goals, and driving sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the airport's long-term strategy by conducting market intelligence, competitive analysis, and feasibility studies for expansion or diversification.
  • Align strategic initiatives with Oman's Vision 2040, national transport policies, and tourism objectives to drive innovation and digital transformation.
  • Lead annual and multi-year business planning processes in coordination with all departments, including setting and monitoring KPIs to evaluate business performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and commercial teams to ensure infrastructure development meets forecasted passenger and cargo demands.

Business Planning and Performance

Drive business growth by developing and implementing a comprehensive business plan that aligns with the airport's strategic priorities. Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure alignment with strategic goals and foster a results-oriented culture.

Leadership and People Development

Lead and mentor a high-performing strategy and planning team, promote collaboration across the organization, and develop scenario planning models to address economic, geopolitical, and environmental uncertainties.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Master's degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Aviation Management, Economics, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in strategy development, corporate planning, or business transformation, preferably within the aviation, transport, or infrastructure sectors.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role with a proven track record of successfully leading strategic initiatives in complex environments.
  • Familiarity with airport operations, commercial models, and infrastructure development, as well as exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A deep understanding of the global aviation industry, market trends, and regulatory environment.
