As an English Language Lecturer, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of students on the General Foundation Programme. Your expertise in teaching and assessing English language skills will enable students to achieve success in their chosen disciplines.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive English language lesson plans to cater to the needs of students on the General Foundation Programme or academic support to UG or PG students.
  • Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress on the General Foundation Programmes.
  • Offer guidance and support to students through personal tutoring sessions.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to teaching, including assessment, standardisation, moderation, lesson preparation, report writing, and attendance at regular course meetings.
  • Serve as a university ambassador, promoting the institution's vision and values among academics, parents, students, and other ELT professionals in the region.
  • Cultivate effective working relationships with senior leadership, the Director of General Foundation Programmes, and other members of the General Foundation Programme team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated expertise in full-time EFL teaching with some EAP-related teaching experience.
  • Proven track record of teaching post-graduate students and foundation-level students.
  • Ability to provide detailed analysis and constructive feedback on students' spoken and written work.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently to meet teaching and assessment goals.
  • Adept at managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in using technology, particularly learning management systems like Moodle and Turnitin.
  • Native English speaker or equivalent language proficiency, supported by a minimum IELTS certificate of 7.0.
  • Desirable: experience teaching students from the Middle East and/or Arabic learners of English.
  • A strong commitment to the institution's mission, vision, and values.
