As a Financial Compliance Specialist at 21c Museum Hotels, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. We are seeking an experienced auditor who can work collaboratively with our accounting team to achieve this goal.

Responsibilities
  • Room Revenue Audit:
    • You will verify that any discrepancies between housekeeping and front office room status are reported.
    • The total rooms available for sale should agree with the contracted rooms available.
    • You will also verify the room rate with agreements or reservations, check allowance for room revenue. Room revenue as per PMS should be corrected in GL.
  • Credit Card Reconciliation:
    • You will reconcile all credit card collections against cashier summary and lists received from the bank.
  • Food Cover Report:
    • You will prepare and photocopy various documentation for food and beverage control and the finance department.
  • Revenue Journal:
    • You will key in and distribute revenue journal to outlet managers and management.
  • Docket Control:
    • You will control dockets used in all outlets, maintaining correct sequence used at all times, accounting for dockets and ensuring canceled dockets are recorded accordingly.
  • F&B Sales Control:
    • You will control all food and beverage sales by correctly recording guest checks on a timely basis.
    • Spot checks on outlet checks used should be performed.
    • All voided checks, corrections, and unsettled checks should be approved by the restaurant supervisor or manager.
  • Rebates and Miscellaneous Charges:
    • You will ensure that all rebates and miscellaneous charges are supported by documentation detailing the charges.
    • All rebate credits must be in accordance with finance policy.
  • Program Controls:
    • You will ensure that programs involving coupons, certificates, and vouchers are adequately controlled and safeguards are in place.
  • General Cashier Summary:
    • You will audit daily collection of the general cashier's summary against the bank in slip.
  • Advance Payments:
    • You will audit and reconcile advance payments and ensure payments have been applied.
  • Register Control:
    • You will work with the general cashier to check all float totals regularly and keep control on registers in outlets.
  • Revenues Reconciliation:
    • You will reconcile revenues on a daily basis via back-up page.
  • Special Projects:
    • You may perform various special projects as requested and assigned by management.
  • Hotel Handbook and Policies:
    • You will adhere to hotel handbook and general policies and procedures.
  • Finance Policies:
    • You will adhere to finance policies and procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as an income auditor or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in financial auditing techniques and procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work cohesively and collectively as part of a team.
