We are seeking a seasoned Database Consultant with expertise in RDBMS Architecture to support our banking clients in Oman.

Experience: 6+ years

Banking Domain: Required

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement database management strategies, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Unix administration and scripting.
  • Maintain security features such as Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and data masking to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Analyze and optimize data warehousing concepts using ETL technologies.
  • Install, upgrade, and configure database software, ensuring proper version control and maintenance.
  • Monitor database performance and ensure fast, efficient access to data by regularly optimizing processes and applying fixes.
  • Ensure databases adhere to security policies and standards, including Trust Domain and IT Security Policy.
  • Maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) setups, testing backup and recovery procedures regularly.
  • Investigate and resolve database issues through a structured problem management process.
  • Enhance performance by reorganizing databases and automating repetitive tasks.
  • Forecast database growth and manage storage usage, cleaning up data according to retention policies.
  • Design and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Implement database failover technology for increased reliability.
  • Estimate future hardware needs and user load growth.
  • Deploy new database solutions as needed by the organization.
