Academic Leadership Position

As the Academic Dean, you will be responsible for providing vision and leadership in curriculum development, academic policies, and instructional standards. This involves ensuring that academic programs meet accreditation and regulatory requirements, while promoting innovative teaching methods and the effective use of technology in instruction.

In addition to academic leadership, this role entails faculty oversight, including the recruitment, evaluation, mentorship, and support of faculty and academic staff. You will facilitate faculty development and performance reviews, as well as ensure compliance with faculty workload, promotion, and tenure policies.

The Academic Dean will also oversee the development, implementation, and assessment of academic programs, leading academic planning and program review processes. Furthermore, you will foster interdisciplinary collaboration and new program initiatives to drive student success and institutional growth.

Your strategic thinking and planning skills will be essential in developing and managing the academic budget for the division, aligning academic priorities with institutional goals and available resources. Additionally, you will participate in institutional planning and policy-making, representing the school/division in committees and community events.

To excel in this role, you should possess a doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant academic discipline, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in academic leadership (e.g., department chair, associate dean). Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are also crucial for success in this position.

If you have experience with accreditation processes, familiarity with institutional effectiveness and assessment strategies, or a proven ability to lead change and manage diverse teams, you will be highly competitive for this role.
