**Accounting Professor Opportunities**

Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional accounting professional to join our academic team. As a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Accounting, you will be responsible for teaching high-quality courses on audit, professional ethics, business tax, tax policy, and personal tax, as well as strategic management accounting at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver engaging course content.
  • Assess student assignments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Faculty Director on student matters, including timetabling and academic support.
  • Provide guidance as a Student Advisor/Personal Tutor.
  • Conduct research and scholarly activities to publish in refereed international journals.
  • Foster connections with external accounting bodies and industry to enhance the student experience, including industrial placements.
  • Participate in university events, such as Board of Examiners, Programme Reviews, and Staff/Student Liaison.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD in Accounting for Senior Lecturer rank.
  • Master's degree in Accounting for Lecturer rank.
  • Professional qualifications and substantial industry experience can be considered for Senior Lecturer rank.
  • Membership in recognized bodies or professional qualifications.
  • Fellowship of the HE Academy or willingness to work towards (within 18 months).

Additional Requirements for Senior Lecturer:

  • Ability to devise, advise on, and manage research programmes.
  • Track record of published research in internationally recognized journals.

Experience:

  • At least two years' experience teaching accounting modules in Higher Education for the Lecturer position and at least three years' HE teaching experience for the SL position.
  • Experience in UK HE sectors and/or Omani and GCC HE environments.
  • Strong industry links and international experience.
  • Academic accreditation or quality assurance experiences.
  • Strong track record in research and scholarly activities or ability to demonstrate capability for same.
