Job Description

The Environmental Officer will support project operations in Oman and have the authority to issue instructions as needed. The appointed officer's name, designation, and photo shall be prominently displayed on-site for all employees' awareness.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement a Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) that complies with client requirements.
  • Deliver training on environmental management requirements related to construction activities and prepare environmental communication materials.
  • Integrate specific environmental requirements into Method Statements and Risk Assessments especially for high-impact activities.
  • Conduct regular environmental site inspections, generate reports, and coordinate closeout with concerned teams.
  • Perform environmental monitoring, such as noise, air quality, water quality, and prepare reports and interpret gathered data.
  • Manage responses to environmental incidents, complaints, NCRs, exceedances, and ensure proper closeout in compliance with IMS procedures.
  • Perform internal environmental audits in line with IMS requirements.
  • Participate in external environmental audits or environmental authority visits.
  • Carry out environmental aspects and impacts assessments for activities within the project scope.
  • Gather and report environmental data to clients, authorities, and corporate teams.
  • Organize environmental events and campaigns for the project.
  • Implement environmental-related requirements of an Integrated Management System as per ISO Standards.
  • Foster strong interpersonal and soft skills to build collaborative working relationships and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Raise environmental awareness and recommend operational improvements in close coordination with technical and construction teams.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex workloads, coordinate resources, and prioritize tasks effectively in fast-paced environments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to articulate requirements, actions, and updates professionally and efficiently.
