Operations Excellence Lead

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Operations Readiness and Assurance (ORA) expert. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the successful start-up and commissioning of complex assets.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ORA, with experience in coordinating and engaging CSU activities, providing technical expertise, and representing the client team in design reviews and workshops.

The role involves identifying training requirements, liaising with L&D department, and ensuring that operations staff are adequately trained prior to start-up. Additionally, the candidate will provide discipline technical support to asset services activities, execute the ORA execution plan, and provide input to operating manuals and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Engage in project EPC phases and DBOOM projects and provide ORA inputs.
2. Coordinate and engage in CSU activities through Company CSU representative at site.
3. Provide technical expertise and deliver requirements for Operations Readiness & Assurance at various project locations in accordance with industry best practice.
4. Represent CLIENT OR/CSU team and support Operations staff at design reviews and workshops such as HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, Alarm Management.
5. Identify training requirements and liaise with L&D department to ensure these are completed pre-start up.
6. Provide discipline technical support to other asset services activities, e.g. asset integrity reviews and improvement activities, shutdowns, maintenance and reliability.
7. Support and advise punch listing of systems and closeout of punch list items on behalf of operations.
8. Execution of the Operations Readiness & Assurance Execution Plan.
9. Provide input to Operating Manuals, Operating Procedures and Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Procedures including Systems Testing Procedures.
10. Assist and contribute to the Flawless start-up initiative.
11. Support the Project to Asset Handover strategy to align with Operations handover requirements.
12. Provide quality assurance and coaching on systems acceptance and punch listing activities undertaken by the CLIENT Operations team.
13. Promote a Right First Time (RFT) approach within the Project Teams and Operations to ensure a cost effective and quick ramp up to targets.
14. Work closely with project and operations to help develop SU team skills and competency requirements.
15. Participate in Peer reviews on startup and operating procedures.
16. Work closely with Project and Operations personnel to meet the OR&A milestones.
17. Liaise with the CLIENT projects, contractor and CSU teams.
18. Ensure risks to the schedule are identified and raised early.
19. Assist to produce punch lists, acceptance documentation, site and technical queries.
20. Assist to ensure close out of outstanding work and punch items, prior to systems being accepted for operations.
21. Assist with the training and Competence development of workers to ensure that O&M personnel are trained and developed to meet existing and future work demands.
22. Assist in the review of relevant Operational Excellence elements.
23. Provide input to the Asset Safety Strategies and promote safe practice for personnel and safe operation of production assets.
24. Support and advise data to be registered in Asset registry (SAP) on behalf of operation and align with Engineering disciplines till population.
25. Ensuring all commissioning and start-up related activities are carried out in accordance with OQEP HSSE and COEs policies and procedures, and industry best practice.
